My Nominees are (in no particular order):
Questions I must answer
•What without fail always makes you laugh?
My 5 year old twins – e.g. Q. What does green and blue make? A. Tortoise 🙂
•What is your favorite adaptation of a book to a movie?
As much as I love films, I generally find myself disappointed with film adaptations. However I enjoyed the 1995 Sense & Sensibility with Kate Winslet and Emma Thompson.
•Why did you start your blog?
Because I love writing and wanted to create a space where fellow writers could share their own work and we could have a bit of fun participating each month.
•What moment did you realize you enjoyed your job or that you were good at your job?
Once I started to get my own clients and realised that they trusted and appreciated my advice. I get the most job satisfaction out of knowing that I am providing a good service to my clients, many of whom I now also consider friends.
Do you have any poem committed to memory? If so, what is it?
Full poem would be Worm Fishing – my first poem, which you can see on this site.
One poem that has stayed with me since high school though is Assisi by Norman McCaig …. The dwarf with hands on backwards sat, slumped like a half full sack on tiny twisted legs from which sawdust might run…….
•What song defines your life?
I don’t think any one song is big enough to describe a whole life, albeit different songs can definitely define periods in your life. ‘That’s Amore’ by Dean Martin is a special one for example. As is ‘Fireworks’ by Katy Perry, as that is the first contemporary song my children learned, which was a bit of a step up from nursery rhymes! 🙂
•What is your first memory?
My younger sister flooding the house by leaving the bathroom tap on upstairs when she was 3 years old.
•What color comes to mind right now?
Red (always red!)
•Do you people believe that we all have a bigger purpose? If so, what do you think yours is?
Wow, big question! At the risk of sounding clichéd, I think my purpose is to enhance the lives of my family and to ensure that they know how much they are loved. (Being lucky enough to be able to leave a mark through my writing would also be fantastic though!
•What time of day do you like to write?
Whenever I get a spare second (which isn’t very often!) Usually during my lunch hour or late into the night.
