Grandfather Clock

Entry just posted onto the PoemPigeon Website – http://www.poempigeon.com

GRANDFATHER CLOCK

Surrounded by people
I am alone.
Adrift
on tides of time,
though not
bound by them:
I set my own course.

It has always been,
this life as spectator.
Standing solitary, upright;
Navigating days; hours.

But I am content.

The room is quiet now,
save for
the faint rhythmic pattern
of my heartbeat.
My arms reach upwards
simultaneously

And I sing to the silence.
